Derivation methods
The rules by which this record reads the texts it retains, as each derivation recorded them in its own method store: every version, the first day that version derived anything, and every rule value, rule text and stated limit the version carries. This page restates none of them.
What a version is
A derivation’s version is named by a digest the derivation computes over the source of the functions it names for that purpose and the rule values it passes beside them, the version of any derivation it reads among them. A change in any of these is a new version, and the method store records it with the first day it derived anything. Code outside the named functions, such as a helper the derivation calls or imports without naming it, is not in the digest, and a change to it is not recorded as a new version.
A new version is a change in this record’s method. It is not a change in any document’s text. A text is named by the content hash its observation recorded; a new version reads the same texts again and writes its lines beside the earlier version’s lines, which are kept. Changes in the texts of tracked documents are listed on Changes, and no version on this page is listed there.

not_reachednumbering these rules do not read: roman outline headings ("I.", "II."), lettered outline headings ("A.", "(a)"), parenthesised numbers ("(1)"), a decimal outline that does not start at "1.", a structural word with a decimal label ("Section 4.2"), a word printed with one capital whose label is followed by a dash or a colon ("Chapter 1 - Title"), and any structural word not in WORDS. A correlation table that pairs two DIFFERENT structural words in one row ("Article 2 Annex I") is not told apart from a heading followed by a heading ("ANNEX VI PART A"), so such a row can be read as headings, and so can a row whose other column prints a dash ("— Article 5"). A heading in a form these rules do not read opens no scope, so a number printed under it is placed under the enclosing word that was read (points under "Section A —" in an annex are placed as that annex's points). A text numbered only in those forms is stored as "no numbering read", never as a text without numbering; and an anchor is placed in the retained NORMALISED text, whose line breaks were collapsed when it was observed, so a heading is read by the form of its words and never by its layout. A reference in running text is refused only by the word printed directly before it (PRECEDING_REFUSED, or a designator with a letter, a digit and a slash): one preceded by any other word, by numbers alone joined by a slash ("Regulation 2099/999 Annex II", the form a page footer "Page 26/52" also prints), or by an abbreviation ("EC Annex I") is read by R2 and R6 only, and can be read as a heading. Where such a reference repeats a heading's id, R5 withholds both, and every heading and number after either copy, up to the next placed word of equal or outer rank, is withheld as "follows a withheld heading" and is served at no level; so a text whose headings repeat can be "read" and serve no anchor.quote_cap_words14rule_textR1 WORDS. The structural words read are `WORDS`, each with a rank, in any case. A label is an arabic number with an optional lower-case letter ("5", "5a"), an upper-case roman numeral ("III") or one capital letter ("A"), and is read in exactly that case: "Article 5A" and "Annex a" are not read. R2 HEADING FORM. A word printed in capitals ("CHAPTER III") is a heading unless its label is followed by "(". A word printed with one capital ("Article 5") is a heading only where its label is followed by a space and a capital letter, and the character before the word is not a comma or a bracket — so "Article 5(1)" in running text and "(b) Chapter III" are not headings. A word is not a heading where the same structural word with a label stands directly before it (its label then any bracketed numbers, a comma or a semicolon, then a space) or directly after its label (a space, then the word and a label): "Article 2 Article 5(1)" is a row of a correlation table, not two headings. A word is not a heading where the word printed directly before it is one of PRECEDING_REFUSED, read in that case ("in accordance with Article 9", "referred to in Article 7", "and Appendix 2"), or is another instrument's designator, a number and a letter joined by a slash ("Directive 1999/99/XY Annex II"): that is a reference in running text, whatever follows its label. R6 below refuses the rest of the references it can. R3 NESTING. An accepted word closes every open word of equal or lower rank (a higher rank number) and nests under the rest. Its id is the ids of the words it nests under, then its own: "chapter-iii/section-1/article-6". R4 DECIMAL OUTLINE. Inside the innermost open word (or the whole text where none is open), a number "N." or "N.N[.N…]" followed by a space and a capital letter is a heading only where it continues the text's own outline: the first is "1.", and each later one is the first child of the previous one, or the next sibling of it or of one of its ancestors. A number preceded by a structural word is never read here. The outline restarts at every accepted word. Its id is its parent word's id, then the number as printed: "annex-i/4.2.1". R5 NO GUESS. An id that the rules accept at two places in one text is held at neither: both are WITHHELD as "id repeats in this text", counted, and named in the store. A table of contents that repeats its headings is the common cause, and the rules do not choose which copy is the clause. Nor do they choose where what follows a withheld word belongs: every heading and number the rules would read after a withheld structural word, up to the next PLACED word of equal or outer rank, is WITHHELD as "follows a withheld heading", listed and counted, and is served at no level — not nested under the withheld word, not at the enclosing level, not at a promoted one. Where such an item would take a placed id if the withheld words were absent (a table of contents' "4.1" and the body's "4.1"), the placed copy is withheld with it as "id repeats in this text". The rules are run again until no further word repeats, and each withheld item is named by the id it has in that last run. R6 SEQUENCE. A structural word's label is read only where it is a first label ("1", "I", "A") or the label before it was read earlier in the text for the same word ("Article 6" after "Article 5" or "Article 5a"). So "Article 16 TFEU" in a preamble, before any article, is not a heading. A one-letter label that is also a roman numeral ("C", "L", "V", "X") is read as either: "Part C" follows "Part B" and "Chapter X" follows "Chapter IX", and "I" is a first label either way.rulesdecimal_max_depth6decimal_pattern(?<![\w.,/:-])(\d{1,3}(?:\.\d{1,3}){0,5})(\.?)(?= [A-Z])designator(?=\S*\d)(?=\S*[A-Za-z])\S*/\S*[^\s.;:]label(?:\d{1,4}[a-z]?|[IVXLC]{1,7}|[A-Z])left_refused,()preceding_refusedaaccordinganandasatbetweenbyforfrominintonorofonorperpursuantseethanthatthetheirthistounderwhosewithwithin

clause_anchors_storestate/clause-anchors.jsonlrule_textTHE SPAN RULE (the one value this derivation adds; the version names it) ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── S1 BOUNDARIES. In one text, the boundaries are every offset at which the clause-anchors map places an anchor or lists a withheld place. S2 SPAN. A placed anchor's span runs from its own offset to the next boundary after it, or to the end of the text where none follows. So a structural word's span holds its heading and whatever is printed before the first heading read under it; the text under a nested heading is in that heading's span. Spans never overlap and never cross a boundary. S3 DIGEST. A span is stated by the sha256 of its UTF-8 bytes, exactly as the retained normalised text holds them: nothing is trimmed, case-folded or collapsed. Offsets count Unicode code points, as the clause-anchors map's do. No word of a span is stored or served: a digest says whether the bytes are the same, and nothing about what they say. THE TIME SERIES (served by /api/v1/clause-history.json, derived at build) ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── T1 RUNS. A row's observations that recorded a digest, in the order they were observed, fall into runs: a run is a maximal sequence recording one digest with no observation recording another digest between them. An observation recording no digest neither ends a run nor enters it. A run lists the days (each observation's own `observed_date`) on which it recorded its digest, and only those days: a day between two of them is not observed. T2 CELLS. A clause is an id the clause-anchors map places or withholds in any read text of the row. For each run it holds one cell, whose state is "placed" (with the anchor's offset, its span's end and the span digest), "withheld" where the map lists the id as withheld, "not placed" where the text was read (a map in the state `read` or `no numbering read`) and the id is neither placed nor withheld, or "text not read" where it was not (refused, or no map yet under the current version). The label a text prints is served once, by /api/v1/clause-anchors.json for that digest, and is not carried here. T3 UNCHANGED TEXT, UNCHANGED CELL. Two runs recording one digest hold equal cells, because a cell is read from the digest's one map and one span line. The plant `scripts/plants/a/test_clause_history.py` holds that as its red.rulesboundariesevery placed anchor offset and every withheld offsetcellsplacedwithheldnot placedtext not read

anchors_versionclause-anchors/3176a34732a7not_reacheddefining forms these rules do not read: a term printed without quotation marks before "means" ("(7) Electronic record means"); a quoted term before "is" ("(18) ‘compatibility’ is the ability…") or before "mean, respectively"; a quoted term of more than MAX_TERM_WORDS words; a qualifier between the term and "means" other than one set off by two commas; "shall mean", "is defined as", "refers to" and "is synonymous with"; a glossary entry whose term and text are separated by a dash, a full stop or nothing ("Bracketing approach. A science…", "Accuracy The accuracy…"); a glossary entry whose term has a word starting with a lower-case letter that is not a connector ("Life cycle"); a glossary not headed by one of GLOSSARY_HEADINGS, or whose first entry does not follow its heading directly; and every glossary entry after the first whose term does not sort after the one before it. A sentence inside a glossary entry that ends in a colon ("Note: The…") is read as an entry where its words fit the term form and sort in place, and the entry before it then ends there. Because the retained text is NORMALISED (its line breaks collapsed when it was observed), a definition is read by the form of its words, never by its layout, and a page header or footer printed inside a definition's text is part of that text. A quoted-form definition's clause is the last anchor placed before it, so where the clause anchors placed a table of contents' numbers and not the body's, that clause is a contents line. A definition whose end is not delimited is withheld, so the last definition of a list is always withheld.quote_cap_words14rule_textD1 QUOTED FORM ("X means…"). A quoted term is an opening quotation mark (‘ “ " '), one to MAX_TERM_WORDS words holding no quotation mark, full stop, semicolon or colon, and the closing mark that pairs with the opening one (’ or ' for ‘ and ', ” for “, " for "); whitespace inside the marks is not part of the term. The form is one or more quoted terms joined by a comma or "or", optionally followed by one quoted term in brackets ("‘UDI’" in "‘Unique Device Identifier’ (‘UDI’) means"), optionally followed by a qualifier set off by two commas, then whitespace and the word "means". Every quoted term in the form is a definition of its own, sharing the form's point and text. A form whose first opening mark has one of QUOTED_PRECEDING_REFUSED directly before it ("whether “anuria” means") is not read: that is a question about a word, not a text defining one. A number printed directly before the form ("(1)", "(14a)", "(b)", "1.1.") is the definition's `point`, as printed. D2 DEFINITIONS SECTION ("X: …"). One of GLOSSARY_HEADINGS, printed in capitals or with one capital, opens a definitions section only where a glossary entry follows it directly. A glossary entry is a term of one to MAX_TERM_WORDS words, then a colon, whitespace and a capital letter, a digit or "(". The term starts with a capital letter; each of its words starts with a capital letter, a digit or "(", or is one of CONNECTORS; it does not end with a connector; and it holds none of . , ; : ! ? “ ” ". After an entry, the next entry is the first glossary entry that starts after a full stop and whitespace, before the next heading the clause anchors read. It is read only where its term's letters and digits, case-folded, sort after the previous entry's (the order a glossary prints its terms in); the first one that does not ends the section and is not read. D3 THE TEXT AND ITS END. A definition's text starts after "means" (and a colon printed directly after it) or after the glossary entry's colon, and whitespace. It ends where the next definition read in the text begins (at its point where one is printed), with trailing whitespace left out. Its end is DELIMITED only where a next definition is read, no heading the clause anchors read (placed or withheld) lies between, no number printed before a quotation mark ("(18) ‘") lies between (a definition in a form these rules do not read), and the text ends with a full stop, a semicolon, "; and" or "; or". A text whose end is not delimited is withheld with the reason, never cut to a sentence. D4 THE QUOTE. A delimited text of at most MAX_QUOTE_WORDS words (`quote_cap`) is quoted whole, byte-exact at its offsets. A longer one is withheld with its word count, never trimmed. D5 THE CLAUSE. A quoted-form definition's clause is the id of the last clause anchor placed at or before its start (its point, where one is printed), under the clause-anchors version named on its store line. Where a heading the clause anchors withheld lies between that anchor and the start, or none is placed before it, the clause is null and `clause_why` says which. A glossary entry's clause is the anchor whose label is printed directly before its section's heading word ("7. Definitions"); where the clause anchors placed none there, the clause is null and `clause_why` says so. In a text with no numbering read, every clause is null. D6 THE POPULATION. A text is read here only where the clause-anchors store's latest line for it, under the clause-anchors version this derivation names, admitted it — that admission is the one reading of the filings (licence, terms, TDMRep, retention, digest), and it is never read twice. Its retained text must still digest to its content hash.rulesconnectorsaanandbyforinofonorthetowith

A number printed directly before the form ("(1)", "(14a)", "(b)", "1.1.") is the definition's `point`, as printed; a bracket may hold a space on each side of its number ("( 7 )"), as the retained text of a page printed with its numbers in their own element does. D1b UNQUOTED FORM IN A DEFINITIONS SECTION ("X means…" with no quotation marks). One of GLOSSARY_HEADINGS, printed in capitals or with one capital and followed by a full stop or whitespace, opens such a section only where the first colon after it is followed directly (after whitespace and an optional point) by an unquoted entry. An unquoted entry is a term of one to MAX_TERM_WORDS words, then whitespace and the word "means". The term starts with a capital letter; its words are separated by whitespace or a comma and whitespace; it holds no quotation mark, bracket, full stop, semicolon, colon, ! or ?. After an entry, the next entry is the first unquoted entry that starts after a point, or after a full stop, a semicolon or a colon (each optionally followed by a closing bracket) and whitespace. It is read only where its term sorts after the previous entry's, by D2's order; the first one that does not ends the section and is not read. A printed point directly before the term is its `point`. The term starts with a capital letter; each of its words starts with a capital letter, a digit or "(", or is one of CONNECTORS; it does not end with a connector; and it holds none of . , ; : ! ? “ ” ". After an entry, the next entry is the first glossary entry that starts after a full stop (optionally followed by a closing bracket or by a footnote number of one to three digits) and whitespace, before the next heading the clause anchors read. Its end is DELIMITED only where a next definition is read, no heading the clause anchors read (placed or withheld) lies between, no definition in a shape these rules did not read lies between, and the text ends with a full stop, a semicolon, "; and" or "; or". The unread shapes are: a number printed before a quotation mark ("(18) ‘"), in any text; and, inside the text of an unquoted entry or a glossary entry, a term in the shape below, at any word start after whitespace that is not a definition read: a capital, then one to MAX_TERM_WORDS words holding none of . ; : ! ?, then a colon, whitespace and a capital letter, a digit or "(" (looser than D2, so "Bespoke/Customized computerised system:" counts); and, in an unquoted entry's text only, a sentence that starts with a capital after . ; : or ) and whitespace and reaches the word "means" (looser than D1b, so a term holding a bracket counts). A text whose end is not delimited is withheld with the reason, never cut to a sentence. D4 THE QUOTE. The cap is measured over the publisher's words served with the quote, which are the source's own run from the form's first term (its opening quotation mark, where it has one) to the text's end: the term or terms, "means" or the colon, and the text. The point is a label, like the clause, and is not counted. Where that run is at most MAX_QUOTE_WORDS words (`quote_cap`) the text is quoted whole, byte-exact at its offsets. A longer one is withheld with the run's word count, never trimmed. A glossary entry's clause is the anchor whose label is printed directly before its section's heading word ("7. not_reacheda listed verb printed in any other case ("May", "Should", "SHALL"), joined by a hyphen, or in another form ("shan't", "mustn't", "are expected", "is not expected", "was expected"), and any verb not in MODALS. A sentence end followed by a digit, a bracket, a quotation mark or a lower-case letter is not read as an end, so two sentences can be read as one; a shortened word not in ABBREVIATIONS followed by a capital is read as an end, and so is one letter followed by a period ("Annex A. The"), so one sentence can be read as two. A sentence is read in the retained NORMALISED text, whose line breaks were collapsed when it was observed, so a heading's title and a list's items run into the sentence printed after them unless a rule ends it, and a table's cells are read as running text. Text the page prints around a document (navigation, a footer) is read as sentences like any other. A text head 1 refused is not read here, and a text head 1 has not derived under its current version is awaiting and has no line. A company or a person named without a form in NAME_FORMS or a word PERSON_WORDS reads is not seen by Q2, and a sentence under the cap that names one is quoted.quote_cap_words14rule_textM1 VERBS. The listed verbs are `MODALS`, in the order and the case the order prints them: "shall", "should", "must", "is expected", "may". Each is read in exactly that case, as whole words: a hyphen or a word character directly before or after refuses it ("must-have"). So "May" (a month in most of its printed uses), "Should" opening a sentence and "SHALL" in capitals are not read; every run counts them in the admitted texts and prints the count. "is expected" is read with one space between its words, as the normalised text prints every run of white space. S1 END. A sentence ends after ".", "!" or "?" and any of the closing marks `CLOSERS` printed directly after it, where white space follows and the next printed character is an upper-case letter. S2 NOT AN END. A "." does not end a sentence where the word it closes is two or more letters each followed by a period ("U.S.", "e.g.", "B.V."), or is one of `ABBREVIATIONS`, read in that case. The list was read off the admitted texts on the day this version was written: each short word most often printed before ". " and a capital that is a shortened word. S3 HEADINGS. A sentence also ends directly before every offset head 1's store lists for the text, placed or withheld, because each is a place where a heading form was read; the next sentence starts there. S4 SPAN. A sentence starts at its first printed character after an end (or at the text's start) and ends after its last printed character before the next end (or at the text's end). It never holds the white space around it. Q1 CAP. A sentence's text is quoted only where `quote_cap.over_cap()` is false for the whole sentence; otherwise it is withheld as "over the quote cap", whole, and never cut. Q2 NAMES. A sentence's text is withheld as "prints one of the name_forms or the person_words" where it prints one of `NAME_FORMS` as a whole token, in that case, or a word `PERSON_WORDS` reads, in any case. No company and no person is named by this record, and a listing page's sentences can name either. And "person" is this record's own word for a person's act: a publisher's sentence printing it, served among this record's fields, would be read as this record saying a person acted on the row. A name printed with none of these is not seen by this rule (NOT_REACHED says so). A1 ANCHOR. A row's anchor is the head 1 item at the greatest offset at or before the sentence's start. Where that item is placed, the row carries its id. Where it is withheld, the row carries no id and states head 1's own reason for withholding it. Where the text has no item before the sentence, the row carries no id and says so; where head 1 read no numbering in the text, the row carries no id and says that.rulesabbreviationsCorpCorrIncLtdNoPhPtePvtRef

A sentence's text is withheld as "prints a word Program 4 head A3's word rule refuses" where Program 4 head A3's refuter (scripts/plants/c/test_topic_identifier_words.py, its FORBIDDEN pattern) matches it. That rule refuses its words in every built file and does not exempt a publisher's quote served in a JSON field (its A3.4), so a quoted sentence printing one stops the build. The pattern is read from the refuter, its one home, and is not restated in any published field. Added 2026-10-30, after one quoted NIST AI RMF sentence stopped that night's build. A1 ANCHOR. An entry numbered like a clause can also be read by the clause-anchor rules as a heading of its own; its anchor is then that number, as that store places it.rule_textL1 HEADING. A heading is one of HEADINGS, in the case it is listed in, printed directly after a section number of the text's own (an arabic outline number such as "8." or "4.2", an upper-case roman numeral with a dot such as "IV.", or "Appendix" or "Annex" in either of their listed cases with a label and a dash or a colon), and followed by a space and a capital letter, a digit or an entry marker; a bracketed number ("(11)") between them is passed over. A heading form followed by a run of dots (a table of contents) or by a lower-case word ("References to the repealed Directive") is not a heading. L2 ENTRIES. A heading is read as a list only where its first entry marker follows it, with at most LINE_NUMBERS_MAX bare numbers between them (the line numbers a draft prints). An entry marker is "1." for a numbered list, or one of BULLETS. Each later entry is the next marker of the same form ("2." after "1."; the same bullet), printed after whitespace and followed by a space, within ENTRY_MAX code points of the marker before it. An entry runs from its marker to the next marker. The list ends at the first entry after which no next marker is found, and THAT LAST ENTRY IS NOT READ: the text prints no mark where it ends, so where a later passage begins is not a thing the text states. It is counted, and named, as not read. A heading whose first entry marker is not found is listed under `headings_not_read`, with that reason, and nothing after it is read. L3 NAMES. Inside each entry read, every designator that `designator_rules()` admits is matched as the citation graph matches it: the form as published, any case, no word character on either side, LONGEST FIRST so a span is consumed by the most specific form, never the citing document's own forms, and a concept-titled form only where another form of the same document is printed within the citation graph's radius. A match whose context (L4) is furniture by `content_region.is_evidence()`, or holds a letter run too long to be a word (`citations.words_lost()`), is not taken, and is counted by that reason. A span already consumed is not matched again. L4 CONTEXT. The served quote is whole whitespace-delimited words around the match, its own words included, at most the quote cap, centred on it, by `concordance_fulltext.context()`; byte-exact at `quote_at`. L5 ANCHOR. A heading's and a match's clause anchor are read from the clause-anchor store by `concordance_fulltext.anchor_for()`: the last heading those rules read at or before the offset; its id where placed, no id where it is withheld or where none is read before it. L6 OVERLAP. A heading printed inside the entries of a list read before it is not read again.rulesbullets•−

The furniture test (`content_region.is_evidence()`), the letter-run test (`citations.words_lost()`) and the radius are applied as the graph applies them: on the span `citations.quote_at()` gives, over the text with every whitespace run made one space. A match one of them refuses is not taken, and is counted by that reason with its offset. A span already consumed is not matched again. The graph's outlier hold is not applied here: it is a property of the graph's whole edge set, and `scripts/citations.py` applies it to every edge it takes from this store. L4 CONTEXT. The served quote is whole whitespace-delimited words around the match, its own words included, at most the quote cap, centred on it, by `concordance_fulltext.context()`, read WITHIN THE MATCH'S ENTRY (from its marker to the next), so it never holds another entry's words; byte-exact at `quote_at`. A match whose served quote is itself furniture or holds a letter run too long to be a word is not taken, and is counted. L5 ANCHOR. A heading's clause anchor is read from the clause-anchor store by `concordance_fulltext.anchor_for()`: the last heading those rules read at or before the offset; its id where placed, no id where it is withheld or where none is read before it. A MATCH IS PLACED WHERE ITS LIST IS: it carries its list's anchor, because an entry number the clause-anchor rules read as a heading ("10." in a numbered list) is an entry of this list and not a clause the match is printed under. L6 OVERLAP. A heading printed at or after a list's heading and before the marker of that list's last entry (the entry not read) is not read again. A heading printed inside that last entry is read.rulesbullets•−

clause_versionclause-anchors/3176a34732a7definitions_versiondefinitions/3239968f8dd1modal_versionmodal-sentences/c9374ed47629not_reacheda term printed in a form no definition under its key carries: a plural or other ending, another letter case, another spacing or a line break between its words, a hyphenated or abbreviated form, a translation; a term a document defines in a form head 3's rules do not read (its own not_reached names them), which enters no key; an occurrence in a text head 1 refused, which is not read; a title is read for its row and is not dated by a text. A position states where an occurrence lies in a text and nothing about what the text says of the term.rule_textT1 TERMS. A term is a key of state/definitions.jsonl under the definitions derivation's current version: a term as a document prints it in a defining form, case-folded, with its whitespace collapsed (head 3's own key, read from its store, never formed here). Its FORMS are every spelling, as printed, that a definition under the key carries. THE THRESHOLD: a key enters the index when at least one observed text of one tracked row, under that version, defines it. Nothing is added to the index by this record and nothing defined is left out. T2 TEXTS. The texts head 1 admitted, read from state/clause-anchors.jsonl under its current version, never asked a second way. A text it refused is stored here as refused with its condition. A text head 4 reads as not text is stored as unmeasured with head 4's reason. A text that head 1, head 3 or head 4 holds no line for yet under its current version is not written: it is counted as awaiting, because a position read before those lines exist would stay unread under this version for ever. T3 MATCH. Every form of the term as printed, letter case kept, with no letter, digit or underscore immediately before or after it: the exact-term rule of the index (concordance_retirement.exact). No plural, ending, synonym, stem, other case or other spacing. T4 DEFINED. The definitions head 3 read under the term's key in the text, by their offsets. T5 IN NORMATIVE SENTENCES. The sentences head 4 read as printing a listed modal verb in the text whose span holds a whole occurrence of a form, by their start offsets. Head 4's list of verbs is the list; nothing here is called a requirement. T6 IN BODY. Every other occurrence: one that lies in no sentence of T5 and is not the printed term of a definition under T4. Each is counted under the clause anchor head 1 placed last at or before it (concordance_fulltext.anchor_for), or, where none is placed, under the state that says why. T7 IN TITLES is read where the pages are built, from the row's title as this record holds it, by T3. A title is not a retained text and is not stored here.

clause_versionclause-anchors/3176a34732a7definitions_versiondefinitions/3239968f8dd1modal_versionmodal-sentences/c8744c72c505not_reacheda term printed in a form no definition under its key carries: a plural or other ending, another letter case, another spacing or a line break between its words, a hyphenated or abbreviated form, a translation; a term a document defines in a form head 3's rules do not read (its own not_reached names them), which enters no key; an occurrence in a text head 1 refused, which is not read; a title is read for its row and is not dated by a text.
